Orthotic Prescription //
Barrow Clinic work hand in hand with Langer Biomechanics, one of the UK's leading companies for production of customised orthotics.
An initial consultation is carried out by Barrow Clinic's Therapist and a specialised casting of the clients feet is conducted. Castings are sent to the Langer Laboratory to be manufactured.
The entire process takes approximately 3 weeks. Following this, clients are fitted with their insoles to ensure a perfect fit.
Standardised arch support insoles are also available from Barrow Clinic.
Do I Need Orthotics? //
What to Expect? //
Over 70% of clients think that foot pain is normal.
Certain injuries such as Plantar Fasciitis, Achilles Tendonitis, Shin Splints, Runner's Knee, ITB Syndrome etc. have been linked to poor foot biomechanics.
If you suffer from any of these injuries or frequently get foot or heel pain, foot orthotics may be the best form of treatment.
Custom orthotics work on your feet much like glasses work on your eyes, they reduce stress and strain on your body by bringing your feet back into proper alignment.
Initial consultations last between 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Clients will be assessed for any biomechanical errors and fully fitted for their orthotics.
Price is not inclusive of orthotic devices.
Major health insurance providers offer reimbursement for many services, subject to individual plans.
All therapists are fully qualified and registered members of governing bodies in Ireland and the UK.
